Disneyland's 63rd Anniversary: Walt's Original Plans for the Park

Disneyland's original sign.

When Walt Disney dreamed of Disneyland, he envisioned the familiar Tomorrowland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Adventureland, as well as Main Street, USA. The original plans also included Holidayland, Lilliputianland--a land based on Gulliver's Travels--and a working farm in Frontierland. Much has changed throughout Disneyland's 63 years, including the addition of New Orleans Square, Critter Country, and Mickey's Toontown, as well as the addition of a second park: Disney California Adventure. More changes are coming soon as a new land called Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens in 2019. Personally, I wish they would have saved this for a third park adjacent to Disneyland, but I suspect Walt would be pleased with the park's growth, evolution, and continued ability to persuade people to spend, spend, spend.
