ABOUT US

I'm Dana Del George, and I have a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Southern California. I taught my first class at Santa Monica College in 1997, and I began teaching here full time in 2000. I enjoy tracing the influence of fairy tales in magical realist short fiction, including the stories of Gabriel García Márquez and George Saunders. I like comic relief in a challenging story, so I appreciate the humor often found in fairy tales.

My name is Tim Cramer, and I've been teaching full-time at SMC since 2001 and teach both online and on-ground classes. I am originally from Nebraska and have my Ph.D. in English from the University of Nebraska. My favorite fairy tale is "Snow White" because I like to get scared, and I remember how terrified I was of the Evil Queen when I saw the Disney version as a young child.
